20 Years of CPA—A Milestone Worth Celebrating

Receiving my 20-year CPA Membership and Commitment Pin was both exciting and a little humbling — when I thought about the span of those two decades, it genuinely took my breath away.

Time moves quickly in this profession, and it is wonderful that CPA Australia takes the time to acknowledge those of us who have dedicated our careers to accounting and taxation. That recognition means a great deal.

My passion for accounting began in Grade 11, when I first started learning it in high school. My older sister was studying it at university at the time and having that family mentor made the subject feel even more appealing. I loved maths. I loved the diversity of accounting principles and economics. It was, as they said, a perfect match.

Over the years, I moved between Financial Accounting and Management Accounting, but taxation was always where I truly wanted to be. After three years specialising in tax as an employee, I knew I had to do it for myself. And so, Munko Accounting & Taxation Services, as a CPA Public Practice, was born—and honestly, it was a no-brainer.
In 2017, CPA Australia presented me with Fellow CPA (FCPA) status, a recognition I hold with enormous pride. Every year brings new challenges, new clients, and new opportunities to do meaningful work—and I would not have it any other way.

On May 10, 2017, CPA Australia awarded me the title of Fellow Certified Practising Accountant (FCPA). This status recognises members with exceptional expertise and significant contributions to the accounting profession.
